Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one of the world's largest commercial airports, has deployed an extensive enterprise local area network (LAN) solution from Nortel Networks (NYSE:NT) (TSE:NT.) to address the critical data requirements of a massive logistical operation involving more than 1,250 flights per day.

Implemented for Schiphol by Vosko Networking, this solution handles flight information, baggage handling, office automation and other core processes, and recently earned Schiphol an award as "Best User of IT in the Airport Industry" from Air Transport and Travel Information Systems (ATTIS), a global airport watchdog.
