).

The purpose of the Laboratory Information System is to provide a standardized, unified laboratory system across all business units and sites of Esoterix Inc.

SIA is a Tucson, Ariz., based information systems company, focusing on software development for the clinical laboratory. SIA's laboratory information system, known as MOLIS MOLIS Minority On-Line Information Service , was developed using technology that allows it to be customized to keep pace with the changing business needs and new technology opportunities of today's complex medical laboratories. Al DeStefano, SIA President states, "We believe MOLIS's versatility is the perfect match for Esoterix's innovative style of laboratory service delivery. As their company's business is faced with new demands, MOLIS's functionality will transform readily, allowing it to meet Esoterix's requirements as they continue to expand."

James McClintic, Esoterix CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. This standardized platform, with links to other standard systems, will allow our company to be viewed by customers as a single, consolidated company with centralized resources. I am also impressed with the international background of SIA and the capacity for MOLIS to report in ten different languages. The centralization and international aspect are both important in the future growth of our company."

In addition, LIS will allow for improvements in workflow processes that include implementation of standardized front-end processing, specimen management and storage, barcode and imaging technologies. Last year, Esoterix spent $4.5 million beefing up its Information Technology (IT) department and will invest nearly three times as much into IT over the next 12 months.
