Esco expands South American presence with plant in Chile.


Esco Corp., Portland, Ore., and Elecmetal, Santiago, Chile Santiago, officially Santiago de Chile (Spanish: ), is the capital of Chile, and the center of its largest conurbation (Greater Santiago). , have signed a joint venture to build a metalcasting facility dedicated to the production of ground-engaging tools in the South American company's homeland.

The move follows closely on the heels of a joint venture established in May between Esco and another South American manufacturer, wear-resistant steel product maker Soldering soldering

Process that uses metal alloys with low melting points to join metallic surfaces without melting them. Tin-lead solders, once widely used in the electrical and plumbing industries, are now replaced by lead-free alloys.
