The county comprises the districts of Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough, Selby, and York. , the Lake District, Wales, the Forest of Dean and the New Forest.

The sites are the perfect base from which to explore the stunning natural surroundings while enjoying outdoor activities, from hill walking to fishing, bird watching or canoeing.

At the seven Forestry Commission campsites, Forest Rangers are at hand to share their knowledge on survival skills like fire making, animal tracking and shelter building.

Examples of prices are three nights at the Great Langdale site in the Lake District starting Friday, April 17 for pounds 100; four nights at Spiers House site in North Yorkshire from Monday, May 29 for pounds 130 and seven nights at the Roundhill site in the New Forest, from Friday, June 12 for pounds 240.
