French politician who served as premier (1962-1968) and president (1969-1974), continuing the policies of Charles de Gaulle. (AR February February: see month. , p80) the bottom right caption should read: Perriand's own dining room, as exhibited at the Paris Salon Salon, annual exhibition of art works chosen by jury and presented by the French Academy since 1737; it was originally held in the Salon d'Apollon of the Louvre. By the mid-19th cent. the Salon had become an expression of conservative, established tastes in art. des Artistes Decorateurs in 1928. |
