Ernst opens three more Superstores, continues expansion.

 on Nov. 25, bringing the total number of Superstores the company operates to 27.

Two of the new Superstores will be in primary markets: Kent, Wash., a suburb of Seattle and Sandy, Utah Sandy (also known as Sandy City) is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah and a suburb of Salt Lake City. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 88,418. A 2006 estimate placed its population at 94,203, making it the fifth-largest city in Utah. , a suburb of Salt Lake City. The third store will be in Grants Pass, Ore., establishing the company in a completely new secondary market. The Kent store will replace Ernst's existing store in that community, the others are new stores that will bring Ernst's total number of stores to 80.

Although sales at the store have been spectacular since its opening in May of 1992, the company feels it can better serve the needs of customers there by adding substantial selling space with new departments.

Ernst, founded in 1893, is a full-service home-improvement center operating stores in eight western states; Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Nevada.
