Ernst & Young commits to HQ at new 5 Times Square development.


In one of the largest real estate transactions in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 history, Ernst & Young LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , has signed a 20-year lease for a new 37-floor, 1.1 million square-foot national headquarters to be built by Boston Properties Boston Properties, Inc. (NYSE: BXP) is a self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) based in Boston, Massachusetts. Its primary focus is "Class A" office space which it acquires, develops, and manages in the major markets of Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C.  at the site of 5 Times square on the west side of Seventh Avenue between 41st and 42nd streets in Manhattan.

The 5 Times square site is part of the 42nd Street Development Project, a redevelopment project initiated by the State and City of New York. The building has been designed by the highly acclaimed architect Bill Pedersen of Kohn, Pedersen, Fox of New York. The office tower features a dramatic angular shape with a sloping fin on the Seventh Avenue side, with space for commercial signage and retail space at the base. Boston Properties recently completed the acquisition of this site's leasehold interest and ground rent credits from The Prudential Insurance Company of America for a purchase price of $152.5 million.
