Ernst & Young Names RightNow Founder Greg Gianforte Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year; Innovation, Outstanding Business Performance, and Personal Commitment Cited in Software Category Award Presentation.
Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievement and innovation in business. In presenting the award at a gala event at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel and Towers on June 19, E&Y partner Tim Tasker cited Gianforte's innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to both RightNow and the Bozeman community where the company is headquartered.
Gianforte now qualifies for E&Y's national awards, which will be announced November 22 in Palm Springs, CA. Jay Leno will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.
Gianforte was selected by an independent panel of experts including Chuck Barbo of Shurgard Storage Centers, Bill Baxter of Bsquare Corporation, Steve Gillis, Ph.D. of Corixa Corporation, Maria Pope of Pope & Talbot, Inc., and Bernee D.L. Strom of Strom Group Inc. The awards are sponsored by The Citigroup Private Bank, Curran & Connors, Northwest Cable News, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP, Puget Sound Business Journal, and RR Donnelley Financial.
Gianforte launched RightNow in 1997 after leaving McAfee Associates. A serial entrepreneur, Gianforte's first start-up was network management pioneer Brightwork Development, which was sold to McAfee in 1994.
