. How can I overcome both of these foam issues without causing surface defects?

A In the formulation process, both microfoam entrained in the system and macrofoam appearing on the surface can create craters, pinholes or fish-eye defects in the finished product. Air Products has recently introduced two new molecular defoamers that work together to provide a new era of foam control. Surfynol[R] MD-20 defoamer combats microfoam, while Surfynol MD-30 defoamer's expertise is addressing macrofoam.

Unlike conventional defoamers, these products break foam at the molecular level by attacking the different mechanisms of foam stabilization Stabilization

. This allows formulators to break the cycle, gain defect-free foam control and potentially reduce overall additive additive
