Ericsson wins $50 million order for telecomm system in Russia.


STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 06, 1996--Ericsson has signed an agreement with AO Kubanelectrosvyaz, the main operator in the Krasnodar region of Russia for AXE switching equipment. The contract extends and modernizes the public telecoms network in the region. Installations will begin during the autumn of 1996. The contract is valued at $50 million.

Ericsson is a major supplier of telecom systems to the Russian Federation Russian Federation: see Russia. . During the last quarter of 1995, Ericsson signed agreements with Russian operators for well over 1 million AXE lines. Ericsson has supplied AXE switching equipment for all levels of the network, including international/national transit, local and mobile cellular switches.
