Ericsson to Provide Turnkey Solution for Splitrock Services.


RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1998--Ericsson Inc. Network Solutions Division has signed a contract for a turnkey See turnkey system.  project with Splitrock Services, Inc. to expand their national ATM network. This contract is for the first phase of a multi-phase project that will create the world's largest ATM based multi-service network for Internet and other telecommunications services In telecommunication, the term telecommunications service has the following meanings:

Splitrock Services, Inc., founded in 1997, is based in The Woodlands, Texas. Splitrock is a 'Carrier's Carrier' providing network services on a wholesale basis to Internet Service Providers. By the end of the network build, Splitrock will have an end-to-end ATM-based network. Splitrock's network will have points of presence in all 50 states and will enable 85% of the nation's population to access their network with a local call.
