Ericsson Introduces Its Most Advanced Mobile Companion: MC 218; Palmtop Computer Works With Mobile Phone to Process and Access Data Without Wires.NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1999-- Ericsson (Nasdaq:ERICY) announces the MC 218 Mobile Companion, a hand-held, pocket-sized device packed with features for the mobile office. Combined with an Ericsson GSM mobile phone, the MC 218 becomes a powerful tool for data/voice integration. It has a full keyboard and touch-sensitive screen, yet weighs about 12 oz. (350 g) and fits in a pocket. The MC 218 runs on the EPOC A 32-bit operating system for handheld devices from Symbian Ltd., London, (www.symbian.com).
