Eric Brandt Named as Allergan's Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--April 27, 1999--

Allergan, Inc. (NYSE: AGN) announced today that Eric Brandt has been selected as Allergan's Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He will assume his duties on May 24, 1999.

 Health Care practice. At the Boston Consulting Group, Mr. Brandt was involved in high level consulting engagements with several of the top ten global pharmaceutical companies as well as with numerous managed care and medical device companies.

The principal form of Mr. Brandt's professional practice has been advising clients in the areas of corporate finance, deal valuation, post merger integration, business economics and performance, marketing strategy, total stockholder return, and corporate development. Mr. Brandt currently leads BCG's operational effectiveness practice which focuses on supply chain management, productivity and routes to improve organizational performance.

Mr. Brandt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984. He worked in a variety of manufacturing and research and development settings until returning to school and obtaining a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1989.
