Equinox packs a punch on Park Ave. with 52,000 s/f lease.

SL Green Realty Corp. announced that it has signed a new lease totaling 52,120 s/f at One Park Avenue with upscale operator of health clubs and spas, Equinox Fitness Clubs.

Equinox will occupy a portion of the ground and the entire second floor of the building following the conversion of former office space into retail space. Under the terms of the 16-year lease, Equinox will construct a private entrance for Equinox on the 33rd Street side of the building.

Located on Park Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Streets, this 20-story, landmark quality office building, containing 926,921 s/f, was built in 1925 and

SL Green recently renovated its lobby, elevators and facade.

With institutional quality infrastructure and convenience to all major transportation and the many high-end restaurants of Park Avenue South and Union Square, One Park Avenue was an appealing choice for Equinox, which was also impressed by the residential and corporate demographics of the Murray Hill district in which it is located. In addition to Equinox Fitness Clubs, other noteworthy tenants at 100 Park Avenue include Coty, Inc. and New York University Medical Center.

Equinox Fitness Club is slated to open at One Park Avenue in the first quarter of 2007.
