Epson Debuts Thermal Label/Receipt Printer; Handles a Variety of Stocks with Two-Color Capability.

Epson, a leading supplier of valued-added POS transaction processing solutions, will exhibit its new TM-L90 thermal label/receipt printer at the FS/Tec show in Long Beach this week.

Designed to meet the needs of retail label printing, the TM-L90 offers retailers a time-saving, versatile solution that satisfies a variety of printing needs.

The TM-L90 prints thermal receipts, labels and tickets at a clear resolution of 203 x 203 in one or two colors and is designed to take advantage of new, lower-cost two-color paper that will soon be available, combining the impact of color with affordable cost of ownership. It is capable of printing on a variety of paper stocks, supports continuous printing on liner stock and can print ladder, fence and two-dimensional bar codes.

As with all Epson printers, the TM-L90 is designed with ease of use and efficiency in mind. The printer features a straight paper path that helps to eliminate paper jams and features drop-in paper loading and adjustable paper width capability. With print speeds up to 5.9 inches (150mm) per second, the TM-L90 is among the fastest printers in its class. The TM-L90 can handle paper rolls up to 3.5 inches in diameter so it requires fewer paper changes and its flexible page mode gives retailers a choice of receipt layout designs.

The TM-L90's small footprint and versatile placement options are designed to give retailers maximum flexibility for conserving valuable counter space. Retailers have a choice of mounting the printer horizontally, vertically or on the wall. Additionally, with the TM-L90's quiet operation, it can be located just about anywhere without disrupting the environment.

With an MCBF of 52 million lines and an autocutter life of two million cuts for receipts and one million cuts for labels, the TM-L90 meets the critical reliability needed in high-volume printing environments and is backed by Epson's industry leading selection of service and support programs.

The TM-L90 supports RS-232 and bi-directional parallel interfaces as well as RS-485 and USB allowing hospitality providers to select the interface that meets their current needs and the ability to upgrade as their needs change.
