(ECS See eComStation. ) announced at Supercomm 2001 that it had received a five ($5) million-dollar first round investment from the Elbrus Fund out of Luxembourg and is in the process of negotiating a fifteen ($15) million dollar round with several parties for the next stage of financing.  models are a major concern at the Elbrus Fund, we still have the good sense to invest in new technologies that we need to secure our own banking and communications infrastructure" said Eric Blum, Director of the Elbrus Fund.

"ECS has demonstrated the technology to fill the major privacy and security hole in the Internet. They are extending standards-based Kerberos authentication processes into the connection authorization, service management and accounting processes that are major parts of enterprise networking The networking infrastructure in a large enterprise with multiple computer systems and networks of different types is extraordinarily complex. Due to the myriad of interfaces that are required, much of what goes on has little to do with the real data processing of the payroll and orders. . Their planned managed service simplifies use and eliminates a large part of the administrative nightmare caused by trying to coordinate today's ever expanding router tables, firewall tables, Frame Relay A high-speed packet switching protocol used in wide area networks (WANs). Providing a granular service of up to DS3 speed (45 Mbps), it has become popular for LAN to LAN connections across remote distances, and services are offered by most major carriers.  assignments, SLAs and security policies. Securing user files and transactions, on the fly in real time, should also facilitate the rapid growth of enterprise peer-to-peer and collaborative computing," said Blum.

"Privacy and security do not exist on today's electronic networks," said Gary Brown This page is on the American footballer. For the Irish Rugby player see Gary Brown (rugby player). Today's voice and data service providers simply connect their subscribers to the hackers, crackers, pirates and thieves as part of their dump pipe business model. Enterprise operators are already spending over $20 billion a year in capital and millions of hours in administration, trying to protect their intellectual property and business data from the unsecured carrier links of today."

"Our planned wholesale security service will enable leading edge carriers, ISPs, ASPs, System Integrators and data center operators to secure their subscriber's data, voice and video traffic on-line with virtually no change in their infrastructure. I think those service suppliers that provide secured traffic handling will survive and prosper. I assume the rest will be relegated to the dot com, data network and streaming media See streaming audio, streaming video and digital media hub.  problems of the last year," said Brown.

"Although we are patenting the new technology we created, we are not sure whether we will license the technology to other vendors or just turn it over to the Open Systems Foundation for continued enhancements," said Gunn. "In any case, we are planning to introduce the enterprise security services later this year with a large regional carrier and a host data center operator. We are also exploring partnerships and international joint ventures or acquisitions, to extend the new service for market share growth and global coverage," Gunn pointed out.
