Entropic Communications Opens Hong Kong Office.


SAN DIEGO San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. Coronado is across the bay.  -- Due to increased demand for its c.LINK(TM) chipset, Entropic Communications has opened an office in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov. .

The office will provide sales and customer and technical support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  to its customers including B-Star, BnMUX, Fujitsu, Hannet Telecom, Hitachi Telecom, Kawasaki Microelectronics, Mototech, Oki Electronics, Panasonic, Soontai and Toshiba.

The c.LINK chipset can be found in a variety of consumer electronics devices such as set-top boxes, digital video recorders, broadband home routers and media gateways to enable whole-home access to all the stored multimedia and video content in the home over the existing coaxial cable infrastructure. The chipset also has applications in high speed network access applications from a fiber node to the home for high speed broadband access in multiple dwelling units, for example.

Entropic is a founding member of the Multimedia over Coax Alliance The Multimedia over Coax Alliance develops specifications for home networking over in-home coaxial cable, which is commonly used for antenna connections to TVs and radios, and cable TV.  (MoCA(TM)), www.mocalliance.org, an open industry consortium dedicated to proliferating the standard for delivering video over coax, and ensuring interoperability with member products and coexistence with other delivery mediums, under a RAND (reasonable and non-discriminatory) licensing environment.
