Woodland Hills-based Univision Music Group has appointed Marco Antonio Gonzales as the firm's national publicity manager. Gonzales will oversee all daily media relations for local and national publicity efforts.

TVI Actors Studio in Sherman Oaks has named Jodie Panek vice president. Panek previously served as a corporate liaison for TVI, a resource center for actors and entertainment-related professionals. TVI also named Casey Schacter as assistant director for the TVI Actors Studio's New York City center.

Dana Soza has joined Sherman Oaks-based Extraordinary Events as an account executive for the corporate event management firm. Soza previously served as a destination management consultant with Costa Mesa-based Whirl-A-Round.

POMAX&BDA, a non-profit association of promotion, marketing and broadcast design professionals in the electronic media, named Jim Chabin president and chief executive. Most recently, Chabin was president of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Chabin was POMAX&BDA president and chief executive in 1992.

Laurel Klick has been named visual effects supervisor for Eden FX, a computer graphics firm specializing in the entertainment industry. Klick will head the firm's newly launched feature film unit. She previously was visual effects supervisor at Cine-site.

Alfred Taren was promoted to senior director of contract administration at Universal Music Publishing Group. Taren will track U.S. publishing deals and serve as a liaison between the company's business affairs department and performing rights societies.
