affected by Hurricane Rita Hurricane Rita was the fourth-most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded and the most intense tropical cyclone ever observed in the Gulf of Mexico. Rita caused $11.3 billion in damage on the U.S. Gulf Coast in September 2005.  which confirmed no material damage to its facilities. Additionally, Enterprise reported that the majority of its affected facilities have recommenced operations.

Based on our initial estimates, we do not expect a material financial impact due to the storms. We currently expect that the total impact to operating income Operating Income

These incremental business activities include an increase in margins and volumes in our octane enhancement and butane butane (by`tān), C4H10, gaseous alkane, a hydrocarbon that is obtained from natural gas or by refining petroleum.  isomerization isomerization /isom·er·iza·tion/ (i-som?er-i-za´shun) the process whereby any isomer is converted into another isomer, usually requiring special conditions of temperature, pressure, or catalysts.  businesses due to increased demand for motor gasoline and replacement demand for natural gas.

Provided below is a summary of the current status of Enterprise's key assets in the Gulf Coast region:

Offshore Assets Oil and gas facilities, mining and industrial installations, ocean thermal energy conversion facilities, deep water ports, aids to navigation, and nuclear power plants located or in operation seaward of the coastline.

All of the partnership's oil and natural gas pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico are operational except for the Phoenix gas pipeline, a portion of the Viosca Knoll natural gas pipeline, the Typhoon typhoon: see hurricane.  oil and gas pipeline laterals and the High Island offshore natural gas pipeline.

The Phoenix natural gas pipeline system gathers natural gas from the Redhawk field located in the Garden Banks area of the Central Gulf of Mexico. Although no damage was reported to the production facilities and Enterprise's Phoenix natural gas pipeline system was not damaged, deliveries to the downstream pipeline facilities have been suspended pending repairs to downstream pipelines which are expected during the fourth quarter 2005. The Phoenix pipeline system was gathering approximately 125 million cubic feet per day ("MMcfd") prior to Hurricane Rita.

The Viosca Knoll natural gas gathering system located in the eastern Gulf of Mexico has been returned to service. Preliminary subsurface inspection of the western end of the system indicated a possible leak and movement of the pipeline due to Hurricane Katrina Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism. . The western portion of the system has been isolated and the eastern segment of the pipeline is currently flowing approximately 130 MMcfd of natural gas. We anticipate another 300 MMcfd will be flowing in the next few weeks from additional fields that are connected to the Viosca Knoll system.

Preliminary assessments of the Typhoon oil and natural gas gathering pipelines indicate no major damage to Enterprise's assets. These pipelines, which will be idle until the Typhoon production platform operated by Chevron is restored or replaced, were flowing approximately 15 thousand barrels per day Barrels per day (abbreviated BPD, bbl/d, bpd, bd or b/d) is a measurement used to describe the amount of crude oil (measured in barrels) produced or consumed by an entity in one day.  ("MBPD MBPD Million Barrels Per Day

") and 20 MMcfd before the storm.

The High Island offshore natural gas pipeline system and the East Breaks natural gas gathering systems were not damaged during the storm and are operational. Resumption of service on these pipelines is subject to repairs to downstream pipelines which are expected during October 2005. The High Island system was transporting approximately 600 MMcfd prior to Hurricane Rita.

The Poseidon and Allegheny oil pipeline systems are currently flowing 120 MBPD of oil compared to 175 MBPD at pre-storm levels. The Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline System is beginning to ramp up Ramp Up

natural gas pipelines are in the initial stages of ramping up volumes and are currently flowing 200 MMcfd of gas from fields in the Southern Green Canyon area. This compares to 400 MMcfd at pre-storm levels.

Inspections of our platforms have been completed with no major damage reported. All platforms are in service except Garden Banks 72 and East Cameron 373 which are waiting on repairs to downstream gas pipelines prior to returning to service.

Onshore Assets

Currently, six of the ten significant Louisiana natural gas processing Natural gas processing plants, or fractionators, are used to purify the raw natural gas extracted from underground gas fields and brought up to the surface by gas wells. The processed natural gas, used as fuel by residential, commercial and industial consumers, is almost pure  plants in which Enterprise owns various interests are operational and are either in the process of ramping up volumes or are waiting on production from upstream facilities. These plants are currently processing 1.1 billion cubic feet per day ("Bcfd") of natural gas compared to 5.2 Bcfd before the storm.

Significant progress has been made to repair our Toca natural gas processing plant in Chalmette, Louisiana. We are on schedule to restart the Toca II cryogenic processing train, which has a capacity of approximately 250 million cubic feet per day ("MMcfd"), in approximately three weeks. Repairs to the Toca I processing train, which has a capacity of approximately 850 MMcfd, are expected to be completed in approximately six to seven weeks. In the month of August, prior to Hurricane Katrina, the Toca plant was processing approximately 500 MMcfd of natural gas. Enterprise is continuing to work with the upstream pipelines and its producers to establish a timeline for the resumption of service at Toca. Enterprise has a 60.4% ownership interest in the Toca plant.

It should be noted that while the aggregate natural gas processing capacity of the Toca, Yscloskey and Venice facilities is 4.25 billion cubic feet per day ("Bcfd"), the average volume of natural gas being processed by these three plants in the August prior to Hurricane Katrina was approximately 2.0 Bcfd.
