This two-day seminar targets those who are considering the startup of a business, want to transition from employee to employer or want to improve their own business by providing hands-on exposure to skills to compete effectively in today's market place.

Topics include legal aspects, funding sources, business insurance, financial management, managing operations, developing a business plan, market research, new product introduction, pricing a product, advertising and publicity.

This seminar applies as an elective toward UCSC Extension's Certificate Program in Marketing. UCSC Extension's certificate programs are a series of core courses and electives. Courses can be taken individually as well as part of the certificate program.
