Entergy Expands its Alpharel/Trimco EDMS System; Contract Valued at More Than $1 Million.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 3, 1996--Alpharel/Trimco (NASDAQ/NMS: AREL), a principal supplier of enterprise-wide document management systems (EDMS), today announced that it has signed a contract with Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) which increases its base enterprise-wide document management system from 950 to 2,000 licenses.

In addition, the software Alpharel/Trimco provided adds graphical query language, workflow and CAD connectivity to the installation.

The contract is valued at more than $1 million.

Entergy Corporation, headquartered in New Orleans, is an energy company with worldwide power production and electric service operations. Its regulated subsidiaries deliver electricity and related services to 2.4 million retail customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

Entergy's EDM system IDEAS (Integrated Documents Electronic Access System) controls documents in 30 different operational classifications, each with unique life cycle and revision control procedures. IDEAS is operational at three nuclear plants -- Arkansas Nuclear One; Grand Gulf Nuclear Station; and Waterford 3 -- as well as at the Jackson, Miss., nuclear headquarters and Entergy's Corporate headquarters in New Orleans.

The expansion of the IDEAS system within Entergy will allow more users to have desktop access to engineering drawings, regulatory procedures, safety procedures, QA records and correspondence. Beyond the growing number of users, the added functionality will produce a significant increase in system effectiveness.

CAD Connect automatically converts CAD files to raster images, reducing file size for quick distribution to desktops throughout an organization via standard PC networks or phone lines. With this product, CAD drawings can be viewed as a transparent link to Intergraph Microstation and without CAD software on the viewer's desktop.
