The US branch is called SAP America. , the leading provider of inter-enterprise software solutions, today announced plans to seamlessly link Enigma's product with mySAP.com(TM) Internet business solutions from SAP, the market leader of inter-enterprise software solutions. The companies plan to complement mySAP.com solutions for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul or MRO is a multi-billion dollar industry which works on international authorization rules to deliver a safe airline operation and to assure reliability and availability of customer fleets.  (MRO) and aerospace & defense e-business with Enigma's technical information and illustrated parts catalog Noun 1. parts catalog - a list advertising parts for machinery along with prices

It implies a protocol that guarantees a response to a request. ) system. Customers using the solution from Enigma and SAP will benefit from increased MRO efficiency and decreased turn-around-time for aircraft and engine repair and maintenance, critical for growing aftermarket service businesses and increasing profits for airlines.

Important productivity features include: the ability to check inventory from within the customized OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  IPC; automatic purchase requisition As part of an organization's internal financial controls, the accounting department may institute a purchase requisition process to help manage requests for purchases. Requests for the creation of purchase of goods and services are documented and routed for approval within the  generation; electronic customization of the OEM manuals with EOs and COCs; and the capability to browse through the OEM electronic manuals from any part of the mySAP.com solution. For OEMs the combined solution will help accelerate spare parts sales and service by tying the delivery of technical information including service bulletins to customers' maintenance operations.

Nils Herzberg, Vice President of the SAP Industry Business Unit for Aerospace & Defense, said: "The mySAP.com Workplace brings the power of SAP(TM) functionality right to the end user's desktop. By making the Enigma e-publication and e-catalog directly accessible through mySAP.com, we are delivering enhanced access to information to SAP users. Our partnership with Enigma supports our commitment to deliver complete solutions for our MRO customers."

"We believe that integrating enterprise planning solutions with OEM technical content will propel the MRO business," said Nathan Shuchami, Vice President of Aerospace at Enigma. "The capability of a maintenance technician to research and view required parts in the OEM electronic IPC, locate them in inventory and purchase them, all within one system, will provide tremendous productivity benefits for both the MROs and for their airline customers."

The charter project for the companies will be the integration of the SAP MRO Inspection Workbench with Web-based maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs and service bulletins delivered using Enigma's technology. The Workbench is being developed in the SAP Industry Solution for Aerospace & Defense. Its purpose is to support the inspection and parts disposition process; it will provide intelligent configuration control between as-maintained data for aircraft and engines against master parts list data based on OEM IPC information. Both companies will support this development. Specialists from both companies will also determine other points of integration with mySAP.com. In the short-term, Enigma's catalog technology will be used as part of the mySAP.com buying solution (SAP Business-to-Business Procurement(TM)) and mySAP.com selling solution (SAP Online Store).

Enigma and SAP will demonstrate proofs of concept that seamlessly link Enigma technical information and e-commerce solutions with mySAP.com at various industry events, including the e-Business for Aerospace meeting in Toulouse this week, and upcoming SAPPHIRE(R) conferences in Germany and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

Enigma's open XML/XSL architecture for illustrated parts catalogs enables rapid integration into mySAP.com for MRO parts provisioning and procurement. Enigma's electronic illustrated parts catalog (eIPC) can serve as the parts lookup system for determining the part required for a particular repair procedure. The eIPC is e-commerce enabled, and can serve as the basis for parts ordering. Because most of the world's airlines and overhaul facilities are using Enigma e-publications and e-catalogs delivered by major engine OEMs, integration with SAP lets operators further leverage the investment made by their suppliers and tightens the information chain between buyers and sellers.
