), is an enterprise solution for intranets, extranets and portal applications that delivers true dynamic collaboration between individuals, organizations, and large trading communities. INSIGHT for Livelink is being showcased at LiveLinkUp99, Open Text's Annual User Conference in Orlando, Florida this week.

"INSIGHT for Livelink will allow users to make business-critical information readily available to their customers, and enable them to capitalize on key e-business opportunities that depend upon the delivery of rich content," said Dan Latendre, vice president of product marketing for Open Text Corporation. "The ability to publish online directly from Livelink is an excellent enhancement to Livelink's collaborative knowledge management functionality, and fully leverages our customers' investment in Open Text technology."

"This partnership is strategic for Enigma because it means we can offer our joint customers best-of-breed technologies for comprehensive e-business solutions," noted Randy Clark, vice president of marketing at Enigma. "The seamless integration between Enigma's e-publishing product suite and Open Text's portal platform delivers a highly effective way for customers to enrich, manage, disseminate and access high-value content."

An INSIGHT e-publication is an easy-to-navigate, unified, and searchable application - users can easily find and display the information they need, even in very large, complex collections. INSIGHT is used when information needs to be consumed outside of the organization for product support or maintenance. INSIGHT e-publications can be integrated at the customer site into e-commerce, procurement or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. INSIGHT for Livelink creates unified e-publications from a wide variety of source document formats managed in a Livelink repository, including MS Word/RTF, Adobe(TM) FrameMaker(TM), PDF (Portable Document Format) The de facto standard for document publishing from Adobe. The e-publishing process maps document paragraph tags and Livelink Attributes (author, date, and so forth) to search topics that help the e-publication consumers to quickly find the information they need from a simple menu-driven search dialog. The e-publishing process also automatically creates hyperlinks, a dynamic table of contents, and a custom look and feel for the entire collection.

Once created, INSIGHT e-publications can be delivered and accessed as a vertical portal within a portal on the Livelink platform. INSIGHT also provides alternative offline distribution methods, such as CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.
