Enigma Announces Comprehensive Aerospace Publishing Solution for Airline and Maintenance Facilities.

Customization, Production and Use of Technical Documentation

Enigma, Inc., the leader in electronic publishing solutions, introduces an integrated suite of software, support and consulting services designed specifically for aerospace equipment vendors and airlines. The complete solution reduces technical documentation production costs and improves effectiveness of field maintenance staff by enabling airlines to easily customize manufacturer-provided electronic publications.

In support of its aerospace publishing solution, Enigma is launching Xtend, a new knowledge management product, bundling aerospace specific functionality into the company's core product INSIGHT, and creating a dedicated aerospace business unit.

For airlines and maintenance organizations using INSIGHT applications, Enigma announces Xtend. With Xtend, organizations that receive electronic publications can add or modify content to the publication while maintaining the original searching, hyperlinks and navigation workflow and GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface. . Xtend allows airlines and maintenance organizations to capitalize on the publishing investment of the equipment vendor while facilitating data reuse and customization. Xtend's data repurposing and knowledge-transfer functionality includes:

-- A wizard-driven process for incorporating either new or exported

and modified data to the original publications

-- MS-Word support for creating and editing customer-originated

changes (COCs)

-- Automatic generation of hyperlinks for linking original documents

with new or modified documents

-- Ability to maintain and add reference hyperlinks within and

between publications

-- Green Page views for modified pages with highlighted entries in

table of contents and search results screens

-- Automatic full-text indexing and table of contents updates for

content additions

-- Ability to generate job-card information from maintenance

publications

Customized airline and equipment-vendor publishing systems, based on INSIGHT and Xtend, will be delivered through Enigma's new aerospace business unit. Headed by Nathan Shuchami, VP Aerospace Operations, the new unit combines a team of dedicated aerospace product development, services and support staff.
