English Translations.Regarding "Lost on Translation" by John Wilkins John Wilkins (1614-01-01 - 1672-11-19), an English clergyman, is the only person to have headed a college at both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. He married Oliver Cromwell's sister, Robina. (December 2, 2005): I have great sympathy for all those who worked so hard on translating the liturgy into English. However, the notion of one single translation for the entire English-speaking world strikes me as daft. How could a satisfying solution to such a wrongheaded idea ever come about? Vatican II Noun 1.
