Engineers sponsor seminar series.O' Dea, Lynch, Abbattista Consulting Engineers (OLA) and Sustainable Design Collaborative are sponsoring a seminar series entitled "Executive Order executive order n. a President's or Governor's declaration which has the force of law, usually based on existing statutory powers, and requiring no action by the Congress or state legislature. 111: Turning Red Tape into Green". The seminar series opened in Albany on December 5 at the Albany Institute of History & Art. The speakers were Steven Abbattista, P.E. of OLA and William Bobenhausen, FAIA of SDC. The two speakers will review the requirements of the Executive Order and the impacts on design and construction of state funded projects. On June 10, 2001, Governor George E. Pataki announced Executive Order No. 111 directing state agencies, state authorities and other affected entities to be more energy efficient and environmentally aware. NYSERDA NYSERDA - New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has issued a set of guidelines for meeting the requirements of the Executive Order. This seminar will explore these guidelines and offer in depth information on how to apply them to real projects. The next EO111 seminar will be held in New York City on January 23rd and in Westchester County in early 2004.
