Engineering Systems Solutions Awarded $7.8 Contract to Provide Deployable Communication Systems for the Warfighter.


FREDERICK, Md. -- Engineering Systems Solutions, Inc. (ESS (1) (Electronic Switching System) A large-scale computer from Lucent used to route telephone calls in a telephone company office. The ESS Fixed & Mobile Information Technology Division will provide the US Army with portable, rapidly deployable voice and data communication systems which provide near real-time, two-way intelligence for soldiers serving in remote operational regions. These systems collect, integrate, fuse, and analyze intelligence information which is then disseminated to battlefield commanders in near real time.

Under this contract, the ESS Fixed & Mobile Information Technology Division will supply several hundred Counter Intelligence/Human Intelligence Automated Tool Set (CHATS) systems over the next 6 months. These lightweight systems are versatile and completely self-contained - accepting a wide range of power sources and equipped with a battery-operated power system for limited usage when power is interrupted or unavailable.

ESS has been providing PM-CHIMS (Project Manager - Counter Intelligence Human Intelligence Information Management Systems) system engineering and production support for the past seven years. This award is a continuation of support which the ESS Fixed & Mobile Information Technology Division has been providing. These systems have been delivered in support of the PM-CHIMS intelligence collection and analysis mission.

In addition to building, assembling, testing, and providing technical support for the CHIMS CHIMS CI/HUMINT Management System (US DoD)  product line, ESS will be providing system maintenance and repair, configuration and life-cycle management, technical manual documentation, and pre-deployment system turn-up and testing of the approved system designs.
