Engineering Information Village wins IIA/Online Access SCI/Tech HotShots Award.


HOBOKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 1996--The Information Industry Association (IIA (1) (Information Industry Association, Washington, DC) In 1999, IIA merged with SPA (Software Publishers Association) to become the Software & Information Industry Association. See SIIA. ) has named Engineering Information Inc.s cyberspace Coined by William Gibson in his 1984 novel "Neuromancer," it is a futuristic computer network that people use by plugging their minds into it! The term now refers to the Internet or to the online or digital world in general. See Internet and virtual reality. Contrast with meatspace.  information center, Engineering Information VillageTM, as IIA/Online Access Science/Technology HotShot Product of the Year. The announcement was made at a reception held during the annual IIA conference in Washington, DC earlier this month. The HotShot Awards, co-sponsored by IIA and Online Access, honor the industry's best and most innovative online and Internet products and services. Science/Technology was one of 16 categories identified for recognition.
