Enersis S.A. announces second quarter 1996 interim dividend.


SANTIAGO, Chile--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 1996--Enersis S.A. (NYSE NYSE

:ENI), today announced that the Board of Directors agreed to an interim dividend of Ch$ 1.65 per common share corresponding to the second quarter results of 1996.

For the ADS holders on the record date, the gross dividend amount, prior to Chilean withholding taxes The amount legally deducted from an employee's wages or salary by the employer, who uses it to prepay the charges imposed by the government on the employee's yearly earnings. , corresponds to Ch $82.50 per ADS.

For the purpose of the above mentioned interim dividend, the record date will be August 23 for all shareholders, and payment date will be August 29 for Chilean shareholders.
