Enerjy Software Releases Edition 7 of Java Development Tools.


BEVERLY, Mass. -- Enerjy Software, a leading developer of software tools, today announced the release of Edition 7 of its Java suite of tools. Edition 7 provides support across all four tools in the Enerjy line-up -- which includes Enerjy Code Analyzer, Enerjy Memory Profiler, Enerjy Performance Profiler and Enerjy Thread Profiler -- for Rational Application Developer (RAD) for WebSphere by IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Version 6.0.

ENERJY CODE ANALYZER - Over 50 new rules including:

- Java 5.0 - assist in migrating from Java 1.4, validate proper use of new language constructs, and more

- Looping bugs - detect mismatched Iterators and unchanged loop control variables

- Code maturity - flag direct console output and default exception handlers exception handler - Special code which is called when an exception occurs during the execution of a program. If the programmer does not provide a handler for a given exception, a built-in system exception handler will usually be called resulting in abortion of the program run and  

- Bug detection - covering Junit test cases, Java serialization se·ri·al·ize

New 'Quickfix' options for every rule:

- Disable To turn off; deactivate. See disabled.  rule - allows user to quickly reconfigure Enerjy Code Analyzer to fit needs

- Escape instance of rule - allows user to suppress a single rule firing for special cases

- Escape all instances of rule in file - allows user to suppress a rule from firing for a specific file
