The event is sponsored by the General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). (GSA (1) (Global mobile Suppliers Association, Sawbridgeworth, U.K., www.gsacom.com) A membership organization of suppliers of GSM products and services. Its goal is to promote GSM as the worldwide mobile communications standard. See GSM Association and GSM. ), which manages federal buildings, and Thompson Hine LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , a national law firm, representing many sectors of the energy industry including energy users and suppliers. GSA is successfully applying this technology in many of its facilities. Speakers include users, installers, and a state agency providing incentives for the installation of such equipment. "The Latest in Advanced Metering and Data Analysis: Trade Fair and Case Studies" will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at One Bowling Green, a federal building in the financial district that houses the Museum of the American Indian (formerly the U.S. Customs House). Attendee registration starts at 8:15 a.m. Peter Funk, one of the presenters, said "controlling a building's electricity and fuel demands requires more than knowing how much it uses on a monthly basis. To get such information, building operators need metering that measures and logs usage in shorter intervals, typically on a quarter-hourly and daily basis. Handling all that data also requires software that can quickly analyze it. Such technology is advancing rapidly, and our event will help building managers and others get caught up on the new options and opportunities now available to them." Between 10 and 15 metering equipment and software vendors will be exhibiting their wares in the basement lobby area via tabletop displays and literature distributions. Speakers will summarize metering case studies and financial incentives in the adjacent Meeting Room 1. Addressing the group will be: * Brian Magden, Regional Energy Coordinator, General Services Administration (GSA) * Dario Gristina, chairman/CEO, Genergy, Inc. * Peter Funk, Thompson Hine LLP * Naresh Khosla, president, Enviro-Management & Research, Inc. * Peter Savio, NYS 1.
