Energistics announces changes to Board of Directors.

Schlumberger's Mike Benjamin elected as Energistics' Chairman of the Board

LONDON & HOUSTON -- Energistics, the upstream oil and gas open standards consortium, announced today that Mike Benjamin, Vice-President of Marketing for Schlumberger Information Services, was elected as Chairman of the Board. The appointment took place at a recent Energistics Board of Directors meeting held in London, England. Mike succeeds Jonathan Lewis of Halliburton who held the chairmanship for one year and helped lead the successful rebranding and reemergence of Energistics as a leading industry facilitator of collaborative open data exchange standards. Lewis will remain on the Energistics board.

Mike Benjamin brings 20-years of upstream oilfield experience to the chairmanship and is based in Houston, Texas. His previous assignment was in Paris, France where he served as Director of Recruiting, Training and Employee Development for Schlumberger worldwide. Prior to his assignment in Paris, Mike was Vice-President for Schlumberger Oilfield Services in New Orleans where he was responsible for managing a multi-disciplined workforce of more than 1800 employees across the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to his assignment in New Orleans, Mike served as the US Personnel Manager for Schlumberger. Mike's experience in Schlumberger includes Field Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations Management, Personnel Development and Management, Sales and Marketing.

Also joining the Energistics Board is Mark Greene, an Executive Partner in Accenture's Resources-Energy Consulting practice. Since joining Accenture in 1998, he has led projects in the exploration & production and midstream segments of the oil & gas industry at super-major, international, and mid-tier clients, with an emphasis in operations, drilling, supply chain, and performance management. In 2005, he took on his current role as client director of one of Accenture's largest Resource clients, with responsibility for the global exploration and production segment. Before joining Accenture, Mark worked with Petrofina (now part of Total) and Conoco (now part of ConocoPhillips) in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Canada. Over a span of 15 years, he held positions in portfolio/asset management, petroleum engineering, drilling, capital project management, and acquisitions/divestitures.
