Energie AG Deploys Atrica's Carrier Ethernet Systems to Fulfill Growing Demand for Carrier-Class Broadband Services.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Energie AG OberEsterreich, the leading infrastructure group in upper Austria, has deployed a next-generation Layer 2 transport network based upon Atrica's Carrier Ethernet Systems. With total annual sales of EUR 958.4 Million, Energie AG supplies energy, water and disposal to customers throughout Austria, southern Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Energie AG will leverage the new transport infrastructure's high QoS, guaranteed service level agreement (SLA), and rapid time-to-service capabilities to meet the growing demand for customized, high-speed business communications, wholesale, backhaul, aggregation and triple play services throughout its service region.

Atrica worked with DATENTECHNIK, a leading supplier of professional technical services in Austria, to complete this agreement. DATENTECHNIK, who is a VAR for Atrica, assisted in the deployment of the network and will supply ongoing service and support to Energie AG.

The carrier-class infrastructure will allow Energie AG to rapidly, reliably, and cost-effectively meet market requests for resilient high-speed data services. It will also allow Energie AG to fulfill its commitment to supporting access and broadband development in all communities of Austria.

After a thorough evaluation of its infrastructure options, Energie AG selected the Atrica Carrier Ethernet platform for its sophisticated, easy to use, and efficient end-to-end provisioning and network management process. Energie AG was also impressed with the system's high scalability and reliability, strong QoS, guaranteed SLAs, and rapid time-to-service capabilities, and the reduced CapEx and OpEx it offers.

Energie AG has deployed Atrica's comprehensive carrier-class Carrier Ethernet product suite, including the A-4100 Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Switch, the A-2100 Carrier Ethernet Edge Switch, and the A-100 Carrier Ethernet Demarcation device as well as the Atrica Service Platform for Ethernet Networks (ASPEN[TM]), an integrated service provisioning and management system.
