EnerVest Hires David Kyte as Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Western Division.

HOUSTON -- EnerVest Management Partners, Ltd., (EnerVest) today announced the hiring of David G. Kyte as Vice President and Portfolio Manager in its Western Division. Kyte's primary responsibility will be the management of the Austin Chalk assets EnerVest is acquiring in Central and East Texas. That acquisition is expected to close by the end of June.

"David worked extensively with these assets when he was with Union Pacific Resources, and we are fortunate to add him to our management team," said John B. Walker, president and CEO of EnerVest. "We look forward to closing this acquisition and utilizing David's expertise to maximize the potential in the fields."

Prior to joining EnerVest, Kyte was a Principal of Otero Resources LLC, which is a private company making investments in oil and gas exploration and production opportunities with a focus on unconventional resources and horizontal drilling in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to Otero he was the Vice President of Engineering of Sawtooth Energy Partners, LLC, which was sold in December 2005. Prior to Sawtooth, Kyte held positions of increasing responsibility with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Union Pacific Resources Inc. He began his career with Chevron. Kyte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Canada, and Bachelor's and Master's degrees in engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in Halifax.

Since January 2005, EnerVest has announced more than $2 billion in acquisitions and $467 million in divestitures.
