Ener1 to Relocate Battery-Manufacturing Facility from Italy to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Ener1 Holdings Inc., an emerging leader in mobile power and clean-energy solutions, today announced plans to relocate its battery-manufacturing plant from Cagliari, Italy, to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., by January 2002.

The company is currently conducting negotiations for the purchase of a 20,000-square-foot facility in Fort Lauderdale that will house its manufacturing plant and research laboratories.

"Fort Lauderdale provides us with easy access to major airports and ports, which will be important to our distribution plans," said Jonathan New, Ener1's chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
