The former primate of the Anglican Church of Canada The Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada (referred to in older documents as the Primate of All Canada) is elected by the General Synod of the Church from among a list of five bishops nominated by the House of Bishops. , Michael Peers, his wife, Dorothy, and former United Church of Canada United Church of Canada, Protestant denomination formed in 1925 by the union of the Methodist, Congregational, and Presbyterian churches in Canada. A large number of Presbyterian congregations, however, remain outside the union.  moderator, Marion Pardy, are co-chairing an endowment campaign to raise $1 million to help sustain and expand the theological programs offered by the Centre for Christian Studies (CCS (1) (Common Channel Signaling) A communications system in which one channel is used for signaling and different channels are used for voice/data transmission. Signaling System 7 (SS7) is a CCS system, also known as CCS7. See SS7. ).

"CCS has long nurtured a vision of a cross-Canada network of people who would be the heart and soul of the school. This vibrant community, which witnesses the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is a reality today," said its principal, Caryn Douglas. "Students and graduates span the country, providing life-giving and transforming leadership in all kinds of faith communities."

The campaign, entitled Giving Life ... Shaping Justice, will allow the centre to offer more continuing education continuing education: see adult education.

CCS, which is based in Winnipeg, traces its beginnings to the 1890s, when "visionaries with a passion for theological education for women" in the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian churches founded three deaconess and missionary training homes in Toronto.
