The Company reported a net loss of approximately $9.2 million, or $0.92 per share for the quarter ended March 31, 1998 as compared to a net loss of approximately $0.6 million, or $0.54 per share for the quarter ended March 31, 1997. The current quarter included an $8 million expense reflecting the Company's share of an initial license fee paid by the Company's joint venture with Elan (Emulated LAN) A virtual LAN in the ATM world.
