The founding members of the Endeca Government Advisory Board bring long experience and expert knowledge of public sector and government technology applications to the company. Founding members include: Roger Baker, former CIO for the Department of Commerce, Alan Balutis, former executive director for the Federal Government Information Processing Council (FGIPC), and Charles Battaglia, former staff director for the Senate Select Intelligence Committee.

Alan Balutis: Dr. Alan P. Balutis is president and Chief Operating Officer for Veridyne, Inc., an Information Technology development company. Prior to joining the Veridyne team in February 2003, Dr. Balutis was the executive director and Chief Operating Officer of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) and the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils (FGIPC). Before that, Balutis spent 27 years in public service, having held senior management, budget, finance, planning, and IT positions in the Department of Commerce including roles as deputy CIO and as director of the Advanced Technology Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Balutis was the first recipient of the Commerce Award for Outstanding Management and received a Silver Medal and two Gold Medals - the Department's two highest honors. He also has been recognized by the President as a Meritorious Executive twice and has been named five times to Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 list, as one of the most influential executives in the Washington IT community.

Roger Baker: Roger Baker was most recently the executive vice president at CACI, International, and the general manager of the Telecommunications and Information Assurance business group, which provides global network services to government organizations including the FAA, Coast Guard, Air Force, State Department, and DISA. Prior to joining CACI, Mr. Baker was the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he managed a 6,000 person information technology organization with a budget of $1.5 billion. While at the Commerce Department, he lead efforts to improve technology management, reduce costs by consolidating duplicate services, convert old systems and processes to e-commerce, and create a Federal CIO. Prior to his federal service, Mr. Baker served as vice president of Engineering and Operations at VISA International, where he was responsible for the creation and operation of the VISA Online Banking System.

Charles Battaglia: Charles Battaglia has more than 35 years of service in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. In 2001, Mr Battaglia served on the Bush Transition Team and was charged with managing the Senate confirmation of ten Presidentially appointed officials including one cabinet secretary. He currently serves as a senior advisor to several United States Senators and one cabinet secretary. In addition, he is president of C.B. Grace and Co., a business-to-government consulting firm. From 1997 to 2000, he served as the staff director of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs where he directed authorization, oversight and legislative activities for Veterans health care and benefits. From the mid-1980s to 1997, Battaglia served as a senior staff member and staff director of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence where he directed congressional oversight and program and budget reviews of all intelligence agencies.
