Type of optical disc. The DVD represents the second generation of compact-disc (CD) technology.

Online updates keep information current. New features include more content for students, with a section designed for children 12 and under called Encarta Kids and online math homework help for middle and high school students, and an Encarta Search Bar to help find information quickly.
