Employees involved in "lifestyle choice".

For Lyle Knudsen of Equipment World, the key to retaining valuable employees into the future is through flexibility and allowing workers to realize they are involved in a "lifestyle choice," not just a place of work.

The Thunder Bay-based equipment supplier and service operation employs highly skilled technicians and is concerned about retaining these skilled workers. As such, the company is willing to do what it takes to make the company succeed.

"We're moving forward to adapt to people's needs," says Knudsen, the general manager and president of Equipment World.

The centrepiece of the company's retention strategy, however, is allowing flexibility in employment guidelines guidelines,

and keeping working hours open to the circumstances CIRCUMSTANCES, evidence. The particulars which accompany a fact.

 of each worker, he states.

Under the company's discretion, Equipment World allows its employees to take full advantage of the company's facilities and equipment for their own personal use.

Knudsen further adds that Equipment World offers more tangible benefits for their salaried workers.

Beyond the traditional benefits package, Equipment World has also introduced a profit-sharing plan Profit-Sharing Plan

for salaried employees, which provides incentives for efficient work.

The company also owns and maintains a private residence in Florida, which they allow staff members to utilize whenever they want, subject to company discretion and policy.

A sense of belonging is important in a company, Knudsen says. Equipment World, he says, operates under an open-door policy Noun 1. open-door policy - the policy of granting equal trade opportunities to all countries
