October 4 1961, Elderslie, Renfrewshire) is a radio journalist with BBC Radio Scotland.Before launching her radio career, Nanjiani was the main news presenter at STV Central, having presented the news programme, Scotland Today since 1987. yesterday told why they are backing this year's Breast Cancer Care fashion show. The broadcasters spoke of the personal experiences of the illness that made them agree to present the charity's sell-out fundraiser. Shereen, 44, saw her mother diagnosed with the disease in January 1998, while Jackie, 44, had her own health scare. The programme first went on air in 1968, with three main presenters, the most famous being Mary Marquis. anchor Jackie said she was fortunate to have attended last year's fashion show. She said: "I go to a lot of charity dinners but this was by far the most uplifting event I have ever attended. It was fun, emotional, inspiring and glam." She said: "After my mum was diagnosed, I vowed to do whatever I could to help." On Thursday, 16 models - 15 women and one man - will take part in two charity fashion shows at Glasgow's Radisson Hotel. All have been through breast cancer. The show also raises money to fund the support Breast Cancer Care provides to people affected by the disease in Scotland. Shereen hosts the evening show and Jackie the afternoon event.
