Emergin Delivers Real-Time Emergency Notification Solution for Crisis Communications.
BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 2003
Emergency Response Teams will benefit from intelligent wireless notification software features that trigger alternate delivery methods
when critical conditions are detected
Emergin Inc., a leading provider of text messaging software, today announced the availability of Emergin WirelessOffice(R) 5.0. This latest version of Emergin's flagship product, WirelessOffice, leads the market in delivering highly reliable, real-time text and voice messaging in an off-the-shelf software platform. Emergency Services can now rapidly establish an integrated disaster communications solution using existing enterprise applications and telecommunications infrastructure.
Health care, public safety and manufacturing all require instant notification and deployment when a critical situation occurs. Emergin WirelessOffice 5.0 broadcasts simultaneous messages to inter-departmental and cross-agency groups quickly, efficiently and reliably. This fifth-generation product release features more advanced wireless messaging, redundancy and fail-safe methods for mission-critical environments. Time-critical messages will re-route to alternate delivery paths if required to reach designated individuals or teams.
"We needed a powerful emergency notification solution to send large volumes of messages under disaster preparedness conditions," said Mike Verini, Information Systems Manager for the Emergency Operations Center in Broward County, Florida. "We found Emergin WirelessOffice to be the best emergency notification system available."
"Crisis conditions usually arise without warning, triggering the need to quickly mobilize remote team members based on accurate and immediate communications," said Michael A. McNeal, President of Emergin, Inc. "Organizations desire 99.9% reliability in mission-critical situations and that is what Emergin delivers. If a communication system is faulty, Emergin WirelessOffice will automatically identify alternate routes to notify individuals and groups instantly. This new release is strategically designed to help emergency personnel protect lives and property in those critical seconds."
New features designed to insure message delivery despite potential infrastructure interruptions include:
-- Text-to-Speech Engine: In a major breakthrough that greatly expands the messaging reach to emergency response teams, text-based messages can now be automatically translated to voice-annunciated messages for delivery to a landline telephone. -- Device Sequencing: Users can now specify up to 10 devices for the receipt of critical messages. Device sequencing helps address network problems, out-of-service areas and other disruptions that occur during a crisis situation. -- Message Priority: In times of emergency, it's critical that urgent messages are delivered on a priority basis. Now administrators can flag a message with high priority, insuring that it will be delivered before less critical or out-of-date messages.
Emergin WirelessOffice 5.0 also delivers new application integration and wireless network compatibility, including:
-- European Selective Paging Association (ESPA) - This protocol
is a TAP-equivalent (Telocator Alphanumeric Protocol) used in
Europe and by some U.S. vendors.
-- Free-Form Transport Protocol (FFTP) - Messages can be
automatically displayed on marquees and LED signs, frequently
used in hospitals or manufacturing facilities.
-- National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) - This
protocol was designed to provide nurse call integration with
in-building wireless telephone systems.
-- Telocator Network Paging Protocol (TNPP) - This is a one-way
paging network standard typically used at the carrier level by
Glenayre, Motorola and Zetron terminals.
-- Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) - This protocol supports
two-way messaging for domestic and European carriers,
including AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS and
-- Simple Mail Transport Protocol Authentication (SMTP) - This
protocol has been enhanced to support SMTP authentication.
For the past seven years, Emergin WirelessOffice has evolved with the mobile and wireless industry, proving its capability to adapt to next generation wireless networks and mobile devices. Emergin WirelessOffice 5.0 is easy to install and implement, right out of the box.
