Eltek Valere to Participate in Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.DRAMMEN, Norway -- Eltek Valere has been selected by Innovation Norway Innovation Norway is a state owned company started in 1994 that replaced four governmental organisations. These organisations were:
"The climate challenge requires innovation in relation to both energy saving and renewable energy," says Morten Schoyen, Eltek Valere chief marketing officer. "The international telecommunications industry is responsible for more than 2.5 percent of global CO2 emissions. The HE (High Efficiency) technology that Eltek Valere has developed halves the energy lost when power is supplied to telecommunications towers and network locations." Eltek Valere's core business is the development and manufacture of power supply systems for telecommunications networks all over the world. In the areas of solar power and renewable energy, Eltek Valere has developed power technology that enables the construction of solar-powered mobile networks in regions with poorly developed power grids, where the base stations would be otherwise dependent on diesel generators. For example, the Pacific island of Nauru recently launched mobile telephone coverage based on Eltek Valere's solar power systems. Next year, the company will launch a completely new type of power supply for solar cell arrays on residential roofs that will allow solar power from the panels to be fed into the power grid, thus making solar cell arrays, whether large-scale or small-scale, more profitable. "Our focus on renewable energy has given us additional market opportunities and a greater technological lead," Schoyen said. "This shows that Eltek Valere is more than a traditional telecoms company." Various environmental events are being arranged in Copenhagen alongside the negotiations on a new climate agreement between heads of government from all over the world. Industry will be represented at the Bright Green Expo exhibition. Innovation Norway has selected eight businesses to represent Norwegian industry. "We want to have with us serious and important businesses from Norwegian industry that are good leaders and that demonstrate the breadth of Norwegian environmental technology. Eltek Valere's work on energy saving in the telecoms sector and its research and innovation in the solar power sector make the business an exciting representative of Norwegian industry," says Desiree Vikse, Innovation Norway's project manager.
