Elsie O. Kay, 99.


WORCESTER Elsie O. Kay, 99, of Worcester died on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare- Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late David John Kay A number of people have been called John Kay:
  • John Kay (flying shuttle) (1704–1780), English inventor of textile machinery, notably the flying shuttle
  • John Kay (spinning frame) (17??–17??), English developer of textile machinery, notably the spinning frame
.

Born in England she was the daughter of the late Harry and Fanny (Law) Halliday. She came to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  in 1912 and was educated in Worcester schools.

Mrs. Kay was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Episcopal Church, Anglican church of the United States. Its separate existence as an American ecclesiastical body with its own episcopate began in 1789. Doctrine and Organization
 in Worcester, was a homemaker dedicated to her home and family and an avid Square Dancer.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan K. Taylor of Westborough and Susan E. Carr of Meriden, CT, four grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16.  and eight great grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Frank Halliday.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
