Elsevier launches "Digital Investigation" in February.Elsevier (New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. An annual, subscription costs $300 for individuals and $650 for institutions. Taglined "the International journal of digital forensics See computer forensics. and incident response," the journal is targeted to lawyers, auditors, information security officers, forensic accountants, IS managers, investigators in corporate, military and criminal settings, fraud examiners, and related law enforcement officials. Elsevier said the journal will carry research, best practice reports and news in digital forensic science The application of scientific knowledge and methodology to legal problems and criminal investigations. Sometimes called simply forensics, forensic science encompasses many different fields of science, including anthropology, biology, chemistry, engineering, genetics, and computing computing - computer . Editorial will include: research papers, including theoretical and applied; information on practice methods and tools for conducting investigations; legal developments, including limitations, new defenses and privacy issues; and, information on standards, policy and ethics ethics, in philosophy, the study and evaluation of human conduct in the light of moral principles. Moral principles may be viewed either as the standard of conduct that individuals have constructed for themselves or as the body of obligations and duties that a , including accreditation and certification. Elsevier said that "as IT becomes more widespread, so too will the potential for abuses and criminal activity involving computing. If we are to ensure society's confidence in our cyberinfrastructure, we must develop and deploy effective, fair and dependable methods of digital investigation.
