Ellis Island to share in historic cash award.


The Assembly Budget Committee today released legislation Assembly Speaker Albio Sires and Assemblymen Brian P. Stack This article is about the politician from New Jersey. For the comedian on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, see Brian Stack.

Brian P. Stack (born May 16, 1966) is an American Democratic Party politician.
 and Jerry Green sponsored to appropriate $18 million for historic preservation projects throughout New Jersey.

The measure also would specifically authorize $4,979,092 from the Garden State Historic Preservation Trust Fund for capital preservation or historic site management grants to be awarded by the New Jersey Historic Trust for projects in northern New Jersey.

Of the 32 projects included in the measure, $731,368 is earmarked for ongoing restoration of the portion of Ellis Island that lies within New Jersey.

The funds will be distributed to Save Ellis Island Save Ellis Island is an organization to raise money for the restoration, preservation and rehabilitation of Ellis Island’s abandoned buildings and to support historic preservation. ! "As home to part of Ellis Island, New Jersey has the responsibility to be a good steward and ensure that the immigration facilities will be standing generations from now," said Sires (D-Hudson), who has made the restoration of Ellis Island a project of his as Speaker.

"Sites like Ellis Island have played primary roles in the history of our state and country. They must be preserved for the ages."

The Sires/Stack/Green measure also would provide legislative approval of $296,740 for preservation of the Saints Peter and Paul Noun 1. Saints Peter and Paul - first celebrated in the 3rd century
