special, then a starring role in Pixar's Finding Nemo--the highest-grossing animated film of all time--and now a hit daytime tall show. DeGeneres has hosted both the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmys.
.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show debuted with powerhouse guests like Jennifer Aniston and Justin Timberlake, scoring a solid 2.1 rating/6 share in 53 metered markets. (To put that in perspective, Caroline Rhea's talker straggled in the 1.0 area before cancellation.)

The show's loosely structured format offers a mix of celebrities and human interest guests as well as a DJ instead of a band. On the surface this sounds much like Rosie O'Donnell's syndicated chatfest, but where Rosie played up her "I'm a fan just like you" attitude, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is more like watching hilarious conversations among friends.
