MERRIMACK, N.H. & WEYBRIDGE, England -- Ellacoya Networks(TM), Inc., a leading provider of intelligent bandwidth management solutions, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Imtech Telecom U.K. Ltd. to resell and support its products in the European market. Imtech, a leading telecom solution provider throughout the European Union, will integrate Ellacoya's IP Service Control System as part of its best-in-class solutions for broadband service providers. The Ellacoya system enables Imtech's customers to evolve their IP service offerings to a combination of application, speed and usage-based service plans delivered to individual subscribers and subscriber groups.

The Ellacoya system, consisting of its high performance e30 IP switches, with accelerated hardware and centralized Service Logic Software (SLS), is deployed worldwide in over 65 broadband cable and DSL networks throughout EMEA, Asia and the Americas. The Ellacoya e30 switches integrate seamlessly into access network architectures upstream from either Broadband Remote Access Systems (BRAS) or Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) devices. From this network vantage point the e30, with its Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) capabilities, identifies and classifies applications on the network and enforces network policies on a per-subscriber basis. The e30s can be distributed across the network, supporting millions of subscribers, and managed from a single point.

Ellacoya's IP Service Control System provides insight into network activity and provides comprehensive Web-based reports on application and subscriber usage. It manages bandwidth automatically, based on policies set by the service provider, to ensure high quality service for all subscribers. The Ellacoya system further enables the broadband service provider to deliver new revenue-generating services such as VoIP, interactive gaming and video-on-demand on a per subscriber basis with appropriate quality-of-service (QoS) parameters applied dynamically.
