 to Professor Sheehy, at its Call to the Bar ceremonies in recognition of her numerous contributions to creating access to justice for women throughout the Ontario legal system. The Law Society awards the honorary degree to select members of the public and the profession who exemplify the character nd values held in esteem by the legal profession. Sheehy has been involved in a consultative capacity with the Department of Justice on women's issues in criminal law, with the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, referred to by the acronym LEAF, is a Canadian legal organization that performs legal research and intervenes in appellate and Supreme Court of Canada cases on women's issues.  on several cases including Jane Doe Jane Doe
