Elizabeth Davies, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor and chair of the Department of Family Health Care Nursing at the University of Southern California, San Francisco, is the recipient of the 2008 Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association Distinguished Career Achievement Award. Karin T. Kirchhoff, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, is the recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Researcher Award. Marianne Matzo, PhD, APRN-BC, FAAN, professor and Frances and Earl Ziegler Chair in Palliative Care Nursing at the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, was presented with the Project on Death in America Nursing Leadership Award in Palliative Care.
